This is a brand new adventure for me – illustrating coloring books. It was a long road to travel (with a lot of lessons along the way), but, boy, was it worth it!
When I started this adventure I took the time to watch a lot of coloring book reviews on youtube and paid careful attention to what colorists said they loved (and didn’t love) in coloring groups on Facebook. I applied what I learned to creating my first coloring book.
Each page in this book was hand drawn, scanned, and then converted into clean line art. For this coloring book I created twelve whimsy woodland animals, a few pattern pages, and a few mandala style illustrations. I also included the much needed test and notes pages. This allows colorists to try out new art supplies and make notes about favorite colors and try blending techniques without sacrificing one (or more) of the coloring pages to do it.
As a fun bonus, I included gift tags and bookmarks to color, cut, and share with loved ones.
I’m already working on my next book (and it will have lots of cool bells and whistles, too) so keep checking in with me and follow me on Instagram and Facebook to stay up to date on new projects (and books).
